Product Details
Ammonium Ferrous Sulphate AR, commonly known as Ferrous Ammonium Sulphate or Mohr’s Salt, has the chemical formula (NH₄)₂Fe(SO₄)₂·6H₂O. It is a double salt of ferrous sulphate and ammonium sulphate, typically appearing as pale green to bluish-green crystalline solid.
The AR (Analytical Reagent) grade indicates high purity and low impurity levels, making it suitable for laboratory and analytical applications, especially in titrations and standard solutions.
This compound is readily soluble in water, forming a slightly acidic solution, and is known for its good stability compared to other ferrous salts, as the presence of ammonium sulphate helps reduce oxidation of Fe²⁺ to Fe³⁺.
