Calcium (Metal) Granular 98%

Calcium Metal Granular 98% (Ca) is a high-purity alkaline earth metal supplied in the form of granules, chips, or small lumps with a silvery-white to grey metallic appearance. Due to its high reactivity, the surface often appears slightly dull because of oxidation when exposed to air.

Calcium metal is highly reactive, especially with water and moisture, forming calcium hydroxide and hydrogen gas in an exothermic reaction. It also reacts readily with oxygen, nitrogen, and halogens, making it a valuable reducing and deoxidizing agent in various metallurgical processes.

With a purity of ~98%, calcium granules are widely used in steel and alloy manufacturing as a deoxidizer, desulfurizer, and refining agent. It is also used in the production of non-ferrous metals, hydrogen generation, and chemical synthesis.

To prevent unwanted reactions, calcium metal is often stored under oil or inert atmosphere. It must be handled with care due to its reactivity and potential fire hazard, especially in contact with water.
