Product Details
Ammonium Metavanadate (NH₄VO₃), also known as Ammonium Monovanadate, is an inorganic vanadium compound widely used as a precursor for vanadium-based chemicals and catalysts. It appears as a white to pale yellow crystalline powder and is moderately soluble in water, forming slightly acidic solutions.
This compound is valued for its role in chemical synthesis, analytical chemistry, and catalyst production, especially in processes involving oxidation reactions. Due to its vanadium content, it is also used in the manufacture of vanadium pentoxide (V₂O₅) and other vanadium derivatives.
Ammonium metavanadate is thermally decomposable, releasing ammonia and forming vanadium oxides when heated. It should be handled carefully as vanadium compounds can be toxic if inhaled or ingested.
