Magnesium Oxide Light 97%

Magnesium Oxide Light 97% is a high-purity, fine, white, and fluffy inorganic powder composed primarily of magnesium oxide (MgO). In contrast to heavy grade, the light form is characterized by its low bulk density, high surface area, and higher reactivity, making it particularly suitable for applications requiring rapid chemical interaction and superior adsorption properties. It is odorless, tasteless, and practically insoluble in water, but it gradually reacts with moisture to form magnesium hydroxide and readily dissolves in dilute acids.

With a purity of approximately 97% MgO, this material is widely used in pharmaceuticals as an antacid and laxative, in cosmetics as an absorbent, and in rubber and plastics as a processing aid and filler. It also finds application in environmental and chemical processes as a neutralizing agent due to its alkaline nature. Magnesium oxide light is chemically stable under normal conditions but should be stored in tightly closed containers in a dry environment to prevent moisture absorption and maintain its free-flowing, high-surface-area characteristics.
