Product Details
Magnesium Stearate 4–5% is a fine, white, hydrophobic powder composed of magnesium salts of stearic and palmitic acids, typically used as a lubricant and anti-adherent in pharmaceutical and nutraceutical formulations. The “4–5%” generally refers to the magnesium (Mg) content present in the compound. It is characterized by its soft, greasy feel and excellent flow-enhancing properties, making it ideal for improving powder handling and tablet compression. Magnesium stearate is practically insoluble in water and alcohol but disperses well in powders, forming a thin lubricating film that reduces friction between particles and equipment surfaces. It is widely used in tablet and capsule manufacturing, cosmetics, and food processing as an anti-caking agent. The material is chemically stable under normal conditions and should be stored in a cool, dry place to maintain its free-flowing nature and prevent moisture absorption.
